Frequently Asked Questions
-
Therapy can support you with a wide range of challenges, from anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties to personal growth, stress management, and navigating life transitions. It’s also a space to clarify goals, explore patterns, and build new coping skills.
-
Absolutely. Many people come to therapy not because something is “wrong,” but because they want to better understand themselves, improve relationships, or make positive changes in their lives.
-
That’s okay! Many of my clients are new to therapy. I’ll walk you through what to expect, answer your questions, and move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
-
Finding the right fit is important. I encourage you to explore my website, learn about my approach, and reach out so we can talk and see if we’re a good match.
-
Yes, your privacy is very important to me. Our sessions are confidential, with a few legal exceptions (such as safety concerns) that I’ll explain before we begin working together.
-
If we happen to see each other in public, I won’t approach you first to protect your privacy and confidentiality. If you say hello, I’m happy to greet you back, but I’ll follow your lead in deciding how to interact.
-
You can contact me by phone or email, or use my online contact form. I’ll walk you through the intake process and set up a time for our first meeting.
-
We’ll spend time getting to know each other, discussing what brings you to therapy, and identifying your goals. You can also ask any questions you have about how I work.
-
The length of therapy varies for everyone. It depends on your goals, needs, and preferences. Some people come for several months; others choose longer-term work for deeper growth.
-
I offer in-person sessions only. I find that meeting face-to-face helps me connect more deeply with clients, allowing us to pick up on body language, share the same space, and create a stronger sense of empathy and understanding.
-
No, as a therapist I do not prescribe medication. If medication might be helpful, I can refer you to a psychiatrist or primary care provider.
-
Life happens! I ask that you give at least 24 hours’ notice so I can offer that time to someone else. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee.
-
We’ll decide together based on your goals and circumstances. Many clients start with weekly sessions, then adjust as needed.
-
I accept private pay and also take Soonercare. Payment is due at the time of your session.
-
As an LMFT Candidate, I’m only able to accept SoonerCare at this time because the agency I am at is contracted specifically with them. I’m not able to take other insurance plans, but I’m happy to discuss private pay options.
